Thursday Thirteen #44

13 More Questions and Answers About Me

Still stealing meme questions from other people's blogs to keep up with Thursday Thirteen.

1. Have you ever thrown-up after a roller coaster ride? Nope. Roller coasters don't make me sick. It's the ones that spin, like the teacup thingies and repetitive circular motion rides like that that make me sick. I have never blown chunks in public after riding one though.

2. What is your dream car? I don't think I've ever dreamt of a car, but assuming this means my fantasy car, I'd say a blue Shelby Cobra.

3. What is your favorite cartoon of all time? Looney Tunes / Buggs Bunny. I especially love Transylvania 6-5000 where Buggs yells Abra-Capocus at the vampire and the vampire has a bat's head on the vampires body, then Buggs yells Pocus-Cadabra and the vampire changes to the huge vampire's head on the bat's little body. Classic comedy there.

4. Have you ever eaten a dog biscuit? Nope. Never had reason to, and I've never been the type of person to do things on a dare either.

5. If you were in a car sinking in a lake, what would you do first? I'd probably first yell out that my mother was right, I SHOULD have been scared of the electric windows not working if ever the car ran off a bridge or something. I'd try to roll a window down so the car could fill up with water and allow me out. I can swim. Even if the window didn't roll down, water would come in and when the pressure equalized I could then hopefully open one of the doors and swim to safety.

6. Have you ever ridden in an ambulance? No. That's a good thing, right?

7. Can you pick something up with your toes? Yes. I even wrote a post about my monkey toes one time.

8. How many remote controls do you have in your house? In the whole house? Golly Jee Willakers, all together for all TVs, video cameras, VCRs, DVDs, around 10-12.

9. Have you ever fallen asleep in school? Not that I remember. I'm actually good at staying awake despite being very sleepy. So I can get sleepy at work, but don't worry about actually falling asleep.

10. How many times have you flown in an airplane in the last year? None.

11. How many foreign countries have you visited? None. I've never been out of the U.S.

12. If you were out of shape, would you compete in a triathlon if you were somehow guaranteed to win a big, gaudy medal? What do you mean "IF" I were out of shape?

13. Would you go swimming in shallow waters where, one year earlier, a shark had attacked a child? No, probably not. There are shark attacks every year north of where we live, and that's just close enough to make me not want to go into the ocean down here where I live. I'm chicken like that, being one of many millions in the JAWs generation.

I'm baaaack! My Thursday Thirteen #45 is up. 13 Photos of Horses and Hayrides Day at Church Stop by if you get a chance.

BBTW I am so jealous of the whole long toe thing. I can't pick up anything with my feet unless it's sharp and I step on it.

I thought dog food eating was a right of passage for kids? I know I've pulled dog food out of the mouths of 75% of my brood and I suspect the other one was just a bit sneakier.

I'm doing #12 (the triathlon) even without a promise of winning a big gaudy medal! ;)

Good questions! Happy TTing!

That was great! I just might have to steal this one since I am running out of ideas.

My son once thought that a baggie of green and red dog treats was Christmas candy and popped a handful in his mouth. He told me that they were the worst candy my aunt had ever made and that she needed to lose the recipe!

We had a bag of multicolored doggie biscuits one time when we were kids. I wondered if they all tasted different.....so I had my little brother try them. All six or seven colors. He was about 5 or 6 at the time. He was so game, I had him try some cat food, hamster food, and fish food, too. He said they were all actually pretty palatable, except for the fish food, which made him gag. Oh, and he ate a dog biscuit on his own every now and then after that. Mom was horrified, of course. ;)

It's not a bad thing to be afraid of sharks I think. Especially in FL. Happy TT and thanks for visiting!

You are a hoot!
I have eaten dog food, but not a biscuit. I don't know why, maybe because I have 4 brothers?
Good questions!
Go eat yourself a dog biscuit! I dare you!

Fun list! I haven't flown in the last year either and have only been out of the U.S. to visit Canada a few times. :)

Really fun list. I, too, have never eaten dog food, but my sister used to LOVE Milk-Bones when she was little. She'd eat them all the time.

2 of my daughters actually got into a fight over the last doggie treat, too. I had no idea they were eating them until then...

And, yes, staying out of ambulances is a good thing!!

Happy TT!

All righty, here we go:

1. Have you ever thrown-up after a roller coaster ride?--Don't do roller coasters, but I got extremely nauseous after a ride at Fiesta Texas several years ago.

2.What is your dream car?--This may not sound that extravagant, but I really love the Chrysler 300 and would love to have a brand new one.

3. What is your favorite cartoon of all time? --Rocky and Bullwinkle. Their humor was so droll.

4. Have you ever eaten a dog biscuit? No...eeeuuww.

5. If you were in a car sinking in a lake, what would you do first?--Panic, probably. I pray to God that never happens.

6. Have you ever ridden in an ambulance? --Yes...a couple of times. Thankfully, in both instances the injuries were minor (and I wasn't the injured one.)

7. Can you pick something up with your toes? Yes.

8. How many remote controls do you have in your house? --Seven or so?

9. I actually deleted that question accidentally. Was it about falling asleep in school? If so, been there, done that. It was in college...can't remember ever doing it earlier than that.

10. How many times have you flown in an airplane in the last year? --Do you mean from June 2006 through June 2007? If so, three times. Just once so far in 2007.

11. How many foreign countries have you visited?--Let's see--Canada, Mexico, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Syria, and a short lay-over in Italy. So, eight.

12. If you were out of shape, would you compete in a triathlon if you were somehow guaranteed to win a big, gaudy medal? Have to echo John's reply here: What do you mean "IF" I were out of shape?

13. Would you go swimming in shallow waters where, one year earlier, a shark had attacked a child? --Definitely not.

#2 - My dream is a 1956 Tbird

#5 - Whenever I drive across a bridge I always remind myself I should have a plan just in case the car ends up in the water. I don't swim, so my plan is probably panic and drown.

#8 - I think I have 8.
