Picture Post, Sunday April 1, 2007

Don C. used to recite the poem:
Spring is sprung,
the grass is riz,
I wonder where all the birdies is?

Since it's spring now, at least for some of us, I thought I'd post pictures of some purdy flars.

A scan of one of my 35mm slides from the early eighties.

Another slide scan.

One of the tulips from some flowers I bought for Lovely Wife last year.

Another slide scan. I had these Tokina close-up lenses I could screw onto the front of my camera's lenses. They worked great, but the depth of field (area in focus) was tiny. Makes this photo look unreal. I like it anyway. Has a dreamy look.

The irises that were the other flower in the batch of Lovely Wife's flowers.

This final one is a slide scan. A bit fuzzy. Oh well.

News: I've started a new photography blog called John's Daily Digital Images. I've been wanting to start a photo blog, to showcase some photos and talk about things that interest me about photography, that might be too boring for this more general blog.

Y'all are welcome to visit over there. I'm going to try to post and talk about a photo or two per day.

Beautiful flowers! Especially the Iris—my favorite flower.

Your new photo blog sounds interesting! I'll be there next time I log in.

But tonight I spent too long on a post about the Maldives--I gotta run...but come over when you have a minute and look at some beautiful island pictures!

I snitched the iris picture for my desktop. Don't worry, I wouldn't dream of selling it. It is beautiful, though. My own purple iris's are just about to bloom.

All of your pictures show up absolutely huge on my screen when I'm in Bloglines, so that gave me the idea.
