Pictue Post, Sunday, August 6, 2006

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?
-- Five Man Electrical Band

I have Always, Completely, and Utterly despised this song. And then a number of years ago, Tesla ups and covers it, and I'll be dog if it didn't become a hit all over again.

I hate that song (regardless of who sings it) but I do love signs. So that's what all y'all are gettin' today.

This here first one is a slide that proves that even as far back as 1982 that I loved signs.

Please don't worry your pretty heads (or handsome heads for that matter) about me. I WILL NOT transgress Florida Statute 372.667 if at all possible.

Some signs are quite artistic, even if illegal and illegible.

Some signs make for cruddy photographs, but make up for it by telling an interesting story.

These bridge columns are holding up a bridge section of US1 in Melbourne, Fl. Each painted post was sponsored by a local business.

And this particular one was sponsored by the company I work for.

And signs can catch my eye because they look lonely and pretty much forgotten.

Have a great Sunday, folks!
